Guide
Use Record in ChatGPT and Claude.
CAST Record is an independent index of entertainment-technology companies, each profiled from its own website. Connected to your assistant, it answers who does what, who works with whom, and how your plan sits against where the field is moving, with every company linked to its profile.
What it costs
Company lookups and quick search are free and need no account. Researched answers and strategy briefs need a free Record account (Connect): 10 researched answers and 2 strategy briefs a day, no card. For answers tuned to how your team buys, ask about your own evaluator.
Connect it to ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open the app directory and search for CAST Record, then add it.
- Ask it something. Lookups and quick search work straight away. When you ask for a researched answer or a brief, ChatGPT shows a sign-in button: sign in with Google or make a free account by email, press Allow, and the answer continues.
Not listed in your region yet? With developer mode on, add a connector with the URL https://record.the-cast.org/api/mcp/open.
Connect it to Claude

Every tool reads the index. None of them changes anything.
- Check the CAST Record
- Finds companies that match a challenge, need or capability. Quick search returns ranked matches in a second or two; a researched answer adds reasoning per company; share your plan and it reads it back priority by priority.
- Get a company profile
- The full profile of one company, every claim cited to its own site.
- Look up a company
- Finds a company in the index by its name or website.
- Who works with whom
- Which companies name a product as an integration, or a client as a customer.
- Market landscape
- How a category is shaped: how many companies, what they offer, where they are.
- Comparable public contracts
- Public contract awards for similar work, where published.
- Index statistics
- How many companies Record holds, by category and region.
Things to try
- Check Record for cashless payment platforms used at music festivals.
- Look up Spektrix in Record. What does it state about pricing and compliance?
- Who in Record works with Tessitura?
- Ask Record for queue management tools for a theme park.
- We're a 20,000-seat arena. Our priorities are replacing our ticketing system and mobile-only entry. Ask Record for a brief.
Your questions and your data
Record keeps the restructured reading of a question, never your words, and a plan you share only as a count of its priorities. Vendors cannot pay to be included or to see who asked about them. The detail is in the privacy policy and the terms.
